i really tried, i just cant finish this game, its so empty feeling yet bloated with repetitive mindless content, and exploring feudal japan feels more like a chore than enjoyment, not to mention the performance is pretty bad.
    nice game
    veri gud yes
After dedicating 200 hours to this game, I can confidently say it's well worth the time. The story is consistently engaging, especially with Yasuke and Naoe's individual arcs. The voice acting could use some polish, but it's far from terrible. Combat is fluid and requires strategic play, setting it apart from earlier titles. The parkour system is a notable upgrade, featuring new mechanics like prone movement and a grappling hook for environmental traversal. The weapons are unique, each offering distinct perks, abilities, and finishers. My main issue is Ubisoft's choice of a fog of war-style map, which complicates exploration in feudal Japan's complex terrains. Despite this, I'd give the game an 8 out of 10, mainly due to minor issues with voice acting and the map design. Overall, it's a well-made game, and I'm excited to see what the future holds for the Assassin's Creed series.

all the missions are copied and paste
Playing this out of spite at this point, just trying to get achievements. This game has the ubisoft specifal of incredibly cringe writing, decent but not groundbreaking combat (albeit also inconsistent), inconsistent parkour, fun stealth, and lengthy filler content.
    i love it .

Incredibly badly optimized, crashes all the time and the characters are boring. I never feel like caring what happens to anyone. Luckily I don't have to climb to any towers here, just to get fast travel points on my map, since the hideout system makes them largely irrelevant and are much better located for fast travel purposes anyway. Other than that, it's hard to find anything positive. It's pretty I guess and weather effects are quite good. It could be "Better-than-Valhalla"-level of game, but before they fix the crashes and slowly degrading framerates during the gameplay, I don't see any reason to waste time on AC Shadows. EDIT (19.10.2025): Crashes got a lot fewer once I lowered the ray tracing settings. Framerates are still bad and will get lower during my gameplay (doesn't matter which settings I am using). But at least it works now. I have nVidia RTX5090, AMD 9950X3D and 192GB of system ram, all installed on m.2 SSD drives. So the system specs shouldn't be a limiting factor for game to work well.
This game is fun honestly I like how we get to switch between the two and the secenry is also amazing.
i get it, its a reskin of odyssey. But i loved odyssey and a theme in japan is 10x better. Dont expect nothing crazy tho, 8/10
it scratched the itch for a new tenchu game for me
