Definitely the worst assassins creed yet. Unfortunately for me I am an ac addict and will buy this garbage if they keep making it.
I am surprised. I played Assassin Creed Valhalla religiously and so the comments I was hearing about this game was disheartening. I am never listening to someone else again. This game is awesome. Great addition to the Assassin Creed franchise.
    Love it
Always nice to sit down to play a game, only to realize it needs a 90GB "update". Go eat a bag of dicks, devs.

Not the best story and it has its flaws but v1.1.1 fine tuned it for the better now. Ge this on discount only.
Extremely good graphics ( nothing could compare to max settings ). combat is insane as well. Story not that great. missions sometimes feel like a task and get super boring sometimes. 7.8 / 10
Don’t, just don’t. Steam Deck user here. Verified badge: not at all. The game simply doesn’t run past the franchise intro…. I had to watch it several times and God, please, turn that shit off. Game boots, runs the franchise intro then tells you it’s running on a HDD (which is wrong for the Steam Deck). It says I have 18 minutes of playtime: it’s 18 minutes of verifying files, running different protons, all with the same result. ProtonDB has the same: no longer works but once was. It’s like a history book! Kind of a bummer, I was looking forward to play it with all of the QoL but my guess is Ubisoft really enjoys having their reputation destroyed after releasing buggy DLC or updates that don’t cover the basic issues. My advice: Don’t buy it. If you did, refund it like I will. If you have played it for a while and can’t anymore? Steam might still provide a refund if the issue is on Ubisoft side. Cheers 🫡
I can't believe this game can't run at a decent frame rate at 4K even using DLSS Quality even using very high not fully maxed settings! 70 fps max on on my 5090 rtx? Please developers optimize your games. I should be able to play this game at native with my 5090!

MY SCORE 7/10 - Technically YAY, woke, weak story, black Samurai, combat is fun but nothing compared to Ghost of Tsushima/Yotei. "AC WOKE" - I absolutely do not recommend! Right from the start: I'm a huge AC fan since its original release back in 2007. HOWEVER, as a fan of this franchise I do not enjoy this forced DEI. I have to be clear and honest. I've seen and read almost all controversies and backlash about Japan material not being right, and of course the elephant in the room: YASUKE. My point is, the Japan setting is universally appreciated and Ubisoft had the chance and privilege to make the best of it and sadly, they did not. As a person of color myself, I would've preferred something similar like Ghost of Tsushima: A Japanese samurai with determination and character. Yasuke feels forced and so does the team-up with Naoe - poor script, woke script. Without a doubt, technically it is an amazing looking game. In terms of graphics and environment it is absolutely stunning. But the product as a whole feels MID and story should've been better… I'm one of those fans who enjoy the RPG style AC titles though. Positives: + Technically and graphically - the best AC title so far + Insane real like creation of Japan's environment + Parkour is very solid, although there is not much to parkour except in castle areas. Obviously, the setting takes place in the 16th hundred in Japan and there aren't many high buildings, except castles and towers + Combat is solid and can be satisfying but admittedly, I think Ghost of Yotei's combat has far more depth + Naoe is cute and I enjoy playing her + Exploring Japan is incredibly fun + Some likeable characters like Junjiro and Sorin the monk. These two alone gave the game more "meaning" for me, although they are just some side NPCs. The way they interact and help Naoe was deep. Negatives: - The story and the missions aren't really gripping that keeps me in my seat, unfortunately - The story feels so fragmented. There's no ark, no immersion. Main target xyz is at xyz, kll him and that's it. - Yasuke, although a fun guy to play with feels "forced". Meaning they included him in the story without deeper thoughts. Especially when Yasuke and Naoe meet up. The whole team thing felt forced. The script was weak. It felt like watching a B-movie with a $25k budget. Again, the story in thise department is very weak. To be fair though, the beginning with Yasuke was very reasonable but the team-up with Naoe and his motivation was so weak. It could've been done better in my personal opinion. This one is a tough one and I held myself back to buy this. At the end I did buy it on SALE. The negativity surrounding it: a black "Samurai", the whole drama surrounding it hurt the whole franchise and the company. Minus the DEI, Black Lives Matter and what not… Dear Ubisoft, it's a game, it's a consumer product. As everyone figures, the sales are below expectations and another AC title based in the US civil war has been canceled. Please stick to the fundamentals. I appreciate Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla more.
I kinda felt like a lot of this game was just decent at best so long as you're playing exactly as intended; may god help you if you spurn the beaten path. This is the first game I've ever player where I had to fight the atrocious topology, exploring is such a pain because so much of the open world is dense foliage and steep hills, I really feel like you're just supposed to let your horse auto-navigate everywhere and at that point why bother having an open world? I kinda like that your primary abilities are divided between two separate characters with opposite play-styles, even if switching between them is a pain. The skill trees felt motivating enough but I don't think that anything could convince me that AC needed a level system, and I've hated it since Syndicate. I don't think any of the characters really appealed to me in any particular way and the English voice acting was really spotty on several supporting characters, which is something I don't usually notice but it stuck out this time. I generally hate rolled loot and this game was no exception, I'm not even sure as to why it is in the game in the first place since legendary gear is so abundant but I did enjoy the modular weapon cosmetics customization. I only played the base-game and I found it to be surprisingly barren of cool supernatural stuff aside from a single ghost in one quest-line and an underwhelming DBD crossover. Why pick old japan if you're afraid to even touch yõkai? Like at least give me a woman in the mountains with several suspicious statues or a beaked turtle with a receding hairline. This game suffers from stability issues and at times makes performing simple actions difficult or impossible, for instance I couldn't sprint for the first 20 hours of my playthrough because I rebound the controls but still had ability 2 on r1+r2 and I guess the game didn't like there being too many buttons bound to r1. I fixed the issue by binding ability 2 to X+r2, which it should have been by default IMO, 4/10 just play AC Valhalla, it goes on sale for way cheaper
it scratched the itch for a new tenchu game for me
Graphic is good, that's it. Countless bugs still exist after months of release. Shallow story and Japanese cultural understanding. Extremely repetitive combat and mission design.
