Classic Ubi add post-launch content that makes the 100% achievement completion a pain. Mastery rank 10 requires completion of all side content about twice. And I thought the NG+ achievement would annoy me the most. May perhaps be better when more DLC content is added but I don't think it will make up for the painful 'end game' grind for rank 10. If you don't care about achievements, the game is okay and relatively inoffensive, but nothing spectacular. English dub is terrible so definitely recommend playing in the Japanese/Portuguese dialogue mode.
After 20 hours it gets repetitive and boring. I usually finish games, but not this one.

Mostly soul-less I liked the old AC games and I enjoyed Odyssey but Shadows falls in the same camp as Valhalla for me - Just ok. Passable. It's fine. Letter grade: C. I love Japanese culture and history and the very beginning of Shadows is pretty good. It reminds me a lot of Shogun. But after both tutorials when you get to the open world it all falls apart. It slows to a crawl and boils down to a circle of templars with 3 or so prerequisite side missions attached to each. The Stealth is great, the combat is good. Side activities are tedious and there are too many. Locations are too close together and very similar which ruins exploration. Buy Ghost of Tsushima instead. If you already own it play it again instead of this. 6/10

MY SCORE 7/10 - Technically YAY, woke, weak story, black Samurai, combat is fun but nothing compared to Ghost of Tsushima/Yotei. "AC WOKE" - I absolutely do not recommend! Right from the start: I'm a huge AC fan since its original release back in 2007. HOWEVER, as a fan of this franchise I do not enjoy this forced DEI. I have to be clear and honest. I've seen and read almost all controversies and backlash about Japan material not being right, and of course the elephant in the room: YASUKE. My point is, the Japan setting is universally appreciated and Ubisoft had the chance and privilege to make the best of it and sadly, they did not. As a person of color myself, I would've preferred something similar like Ghost of Tsushima: A Japanese samurai with determination and character. Yasuke feels forced and so does the team-up with Naoe - poor script, woke script. Without a doubt, technically it is an amazing looking game. In terms of graphics and environment it is absolutely stunning. But the product as a whole feels MID and story should've been better… I'm one of those fans who enjoy the RPG style AC titles though. Positives: + Technically and graphically - the best AC title so far + Insane real like creation of Japan's environment + Parkour is very solid, although there is not much to parkour except in castle areas. Obviously, the setting takes place in the 16th hundred in Japan and there aren't many high buildings, except castles and towers + Combat is solid and can be satisfying but admittedly, I think Ghost of Yotei's combat has far more depth + Naoe is cute and I enjoy playing her + Exploring Japan is incredibly fun + Some likeable characters like Junjiro and Sorin the monk. These two alone gave the game more "meaning" for me, although they are just some side NPCs. The way they interact and help Naoe was deep. Negatives: - The story and the missions aren't really gripping that keeps me in my seat, unfortunately - The story feels so fragmented. There's no ark, no immersion. Main target xyz is at xyz, kll him and that's it. - Yasuke, although a fun guy to play with feels "forced". Meaning they included him in the story without deeper thoughts. Especially when Yasuke and Naoe meet up. The whole team thing felt forced. The script was weak. It felt like watching a B-movie with a $25k budget. Again, the story in thise department is very weak. To be fair though, the beginning with Yasuke was very reasonable but the team-up with Naoe and his motivation was so weak. It could've been done better in my personal opinion. This one is a tough one and I held myself back to buy this. At the end I did buy it on SALE. The negativity surrounding it: a black "Samurai", the whole drama surrounding it hurt the whole franchise and the company. Minus the DEI, Black Lives Matter and what not… Dear Ubisoft, it's a game, it's a consumer product. As everyone figures, the sales are below expectations and another AC title based in the US civil war has been canceled. Please stick to the fundamentals. I appreciate Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla more.
An excellent game in many aspects, it runs and plays well. The amount of historical detail is impressive, especially the architecture. The mechanics of changing seasons is also something that has to be mentioned. The stealth is the best I've seen, if set to the highest difficulty. The combat is decent but not as good as similar games like Ghost of Tsushima. And most of intrusive visual and HUD elements can be disabled. The devs and artists involved in the project definitely don't deserve the hate.
Recomendado 100%, no me canso de jugarlo, de verdad que es una mejora muy considerable al desastre de Valhalla.
good game. finding resources for hideout building is boring and the building mechanisms could use some work to make it better.

Game is soo good and fun i have ton of staff to do and collect and map is huge, i don't know why people hate this game everything is nice real japan game i love it.
My First AC and a Solid Experience (7.5/10) This was my first Assassin’s Creed game, and I have to say, I loved it!!! The combat feels fast, fluid, and incredibly satisfying. The kill and assassination animations are brutal in the best way, and overall, it never felt grindy at all (I come from an MMO background so take this with a grain of salt), which I really appreciated, I think the grind was okay. Visually, the game looks stunning. The graphics are beautiful, and the world design is top-notch. I never got bored doing side quests or exploring. Now, about the two main characters... Naoe’s Story & Gameplay Naoe's story had a strong start. Act 1 was engaging and full of potential, and Act 2 was still decent. But Act 3? Honestly, it completely falls apart. I'd go as far as to say it's straight-up trash. On the gameplay side, though, Naoe is phenomenal stealthy, smooth, and really fun to play. Her playstyle fits this kind of game perfectly, and I found myself using her most of the time. It even feels like the game subtly encourages you to play as Naoe more than Yasuke. Yasuke’s Story & Gameplay With Yasuke, it's kind of the opposite. His story in Acts 1 and 2 is boring and forgettable. I didn’t enjoy it at all. But surprisingly, Act 3 is excellent. It gives him real depth and emotional weight, and for the first time, I truly connected with his character. Gameplay-wise, however, I didn’t enjoy him much. While his assassination animations are cool, his overall combat is slow and clunky. I only used him when I had no choice. Map, UI & Mechanics The map is great, and the UI/HUD design is clean and user-friendly. Everything just works, and I never felt overwhelmed or confused. That said, some mechanics feel completely pointless. For example, the "Hideout" system adds absolutely nothing to the experience, it’s just there for no reason. I have no idea why they even included it. (I'm currently playing Valhalla and now I see that this is a legacy feature in the franchise....still stupid imo) Dialogue Choices & Ending One major letdown for me was the illusion of choice. Dialogue options exist, but they barely affect the story. The only meaningful impact is whether or not you recruit allies, and beyond that, the plot always follows a fixed path no matter what you choose. And then there's the ending… if you can even call it that. It’s terrible. It gives you a "choice" that changes nothing, and then abruptly cuts off with a blatant cliffhanger for the DLC. Totally unsatisfying. Final Thoughts Despite all that, I 100% recommend the game. I genuinely had a great time with it and would give it a solid 7.5 out of 10. Definitely worth playing but maybe wait for a sale :)
    Great game!
    good story line
