However, in some situations, you might consider 4- with more speculative hands like 99, TT, or AQs as a semi-bluff, especially if you're in position against aggressive opponents.

Everything is very bad in this game unfortunate , combat system is bad and the story is too long than it need , deflect and dodge mechanic is not accurate , leveling system taking huge effort and not worth , exploring the open world is not rewarded , the Devs force you to spend more time in the game by sending you from point to another point to increase the game experience without enjoying it , and loading screen taking too long time ,,, I did not recommend this bad game to anyone .

MY SCORE 7/10 - Technically YAY, woke, weak story, black Samurai, combat is fun but nothing compared to Ghost of Tsushima/Yotei. "AC WOKE" - I absolutely do not recommend! Right from the start: I'm a huge AC fan since its original release back in 2007. HOWEVER, as a fan of this franchise I do not enjoy this forced DEI. I have to be clear and honest. I've seen and read almost all controversies and backlash about Japan material not being right, and of course the elephant in the room: YASUKE. My point is, the Japan setting is universally appreciated and Ubisoft had the chance and privilege to make the best of it and sadly, they did not. As a person of color myself, I would've preferred something similar like Ghost of Tsushima: A Japanese samurai with determination and character. Yasuke feels forced and so does the team-up with Naoe - poor script, woke script. Without a doubt, technically it is an amazing looking game. In terms of graphics and environment it is absolutely stunning. But the product as a whole feels MID and story should've been better… I'm one of those fans who enjoy the RPG style AC titles though. Positives: + Technically and graphically - the best AC title so far + Insane real like creation of Japan's environment + Parkour is very solid, although there is not much to parkour except in castle areas. Obviously, the setting takes place in the 16th hundred in Japan and there aren't many high buildings, except castles and towers + Combat is solid and can be satisfying but admittedly, I think Ghost of Yotei's combat has far more depth + Naoe is cute and I enjoy playing her + Exploring Japan is incredibly fun + Some likeable characters like Junjiro and Sorin the monk. These two alone gave the game more "meaning" for me, although they are just some side NPCs. The way they interact and help Naoe was deep. Negatives: - The story and the missions aren't really gripping that keeps me in my seat, unfortunately - The story feels so fragmented. There's no ark, no immersion. Main target xyz is at xyz, kll him and that's it. - Yasuke, although a fun guy to play with feels "forced". Meaning they included him in the story without deeper thoughts. Especially when Yasuke and Naoe meet up. The whole team thing felt forced. The script was weak. It felt like watching a B-movie with a $25k budget. Again, the story in thise department is very weak. To be fair though, the beginning with Yasuke was very reasonable but the team-up with Naoe and his motivation was so weak. It could've been done better in my personal opinion. This one is a tough one and I held myself back to buy this. At the end I did buy it on SALE. The negativity surrounding it: a black "Samurai", the whole drama surrounding it hurt the whole franchise and the company. Minus the DEI, Black Lives Matter and what not… Dear Ubisoft, it's a game, it's a consumer product. As everyone figures, the sales are below expectations and another AC title based in the US civil war has been canceled. Please stick to the fundamentals. I appreciate Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla more.

If you want a game set in Japan, Ghost of Tsushima is significantly better. The story is lacklustre, combat feels stiff compared to other RPG games, and the world, although visually stunning, is bloated with boring and repetitive side activities. Voice acting is very disappointing, especially for a triple-a game and there is almost no motion capture.
Stupid change to retrieving kunai making them almost useless. You either let us retrieve them without spending hours developing the skill tree or let us have more of them. Or make them ignore the hp segments, that way these 4 breakable knives will have any value...
EDIT - Left original review below. I had just updated to win 11 from 10 and updated all my drivers. It turns out I was having problems in other games too, I just didn't realize it until I spent some time in them. Turns out the latest nvidia drivers are responsible for all of my problems. I found a link for the 525.75 hotfix drivers that were released at the same as game (on reddit, the official nvidia gam ready driver download page only went back to 57x). booted to safe mode, used DDU to completely remove the 581 drivers then installed the 527.75 drivers and the version of the nvidia app that was bundled with it. edited the registry to make sure windows wouldn't try to autoupdate the drivers and rebooted to normal mode. let the nvidia app update (just the app, not the drivers). confirmed from "my rig" that the 525.75 drivers were loaded. redownloaded the game and set everything to medium and 1440p. hit 120 fps sustained in the benchmark. tweaked settings (3080 ti) and ended up with almost everything on high except rtx (low). character model, particles, terrain and fog on on ultra high, kept draw distance and vegetation at high. 90 fps almost rock solid in game with and fsr frame gen enabled (this was almost a requirement to get me over 60 fps on any decent level of detail). dlss native dlaa upscaling. Played 6 hours today didn't see a single hiccup or frame drop. I'll change my review to recommended but it took way too much effort on my part and the response from steam was discouraging to say the least. ORIGINAL BAD REVIEW: This game could be amazing, but it crashes constantly so I can't tell. Steam itself is at least partially responsible for this bad review, and they won't issue a refund because of play time. That say I played for 8 hours, yet 4 of that was troubleshooting and trying to get it to actually finish a benchmark run instead of crashing halfway through. I played for barely 2 uninterrupted hours but had to restart, reload, and re-do the same mission like 6 times because it kept crashing. I've tried to request a refund again with those details, but it looks like I might be stuck with an unplayable game and no recourse.
